When you come to, you find that you're laying in a most uncomfortable position. Everything aches. Your head is pounding, and for some reason, so is your heart. You sit up, massaging your aching muscles, and are accompanied by the distinct creaking of old wooden floorboards.
...Huh? That's odd. Did you fall out of bed or something? With a yawn you open your eyes, intending to take a quick gander around your room to assess if anything besides yourself was damaged. However... the sight before you is more horrifying than you could have imagined.
You're back...
You went through so much just to get a taste of freedom... and now you're right back in the middle of it all. Why?! How could this have happened?! Haven't you done enough?!
There are bodies strewn all over the room - though all of them appear to be in relatively fresh condition. Actually... are they dead? You approach the body of a girl, the closest one to you, and see her chest slowly rising and falling in a harmonious rhythm. You check a few more of the bodies around you, and quickly confirm that it's true: everyone here is still alive. That's certainly different from your last outing here, but...
Why are you here to begin with? That question won't stop eating at the back of your mind.
It's not long before others begin to wake too. You even notice some familiar faces and uniforms in the crowd - your friends are here, too! You're not on your own with a bunch of strangers after all. You breathe a quick sigh of relief - that, at least, is a plus. You're only a few words into a catch-up conversation, however, when a bright blue light illuminates the room, originating from the stage to the front. Any chat still to be had quickly dies down, as everyone turns their attention to the podium. It feels a bit like a school assembly, if you ignore the sense of impending dread filling each and every one of you.
From on high, you're stared down upon by Sachi, the girl in the black dress, and Yuki, the girl missing an eye. The two of them have expressions almost impossible to read. Did Sachi finally find out about the survivors' betrayal? Has Yuki once again become corrupted by the Nirvana? Those with the capability to even ask those questions shiver in anticipation, while everyone else in the room remains motionless, like a deer caught in headlights.
The two girls' mouths twist into sickening grins. You can tell they're enjoying the atmosphere.
A murmuring resounds through the room. What day is this? How did we get back here?
All of it is quickly stopped by Sachi's glare, indicating that there's still more to hear.
"You all worked so hard and went through so much. As a reward for that, we'd like to give to you all an invitation..."
"To an event we've waited so very long to be able to host..."
Welcome to the final EX Chapter! To be honest, maybe it's more fitting to call it a Bonus Chapter!
This chapter is a lighthearted reward for all your hard work in escaping Heavenly Host and collecting all the nametags.
